Science project number 3

has failed. It is okay but only that. We got the call at 8 pm when I was almost at my wits end with the waiting. There is a plan for next cycle – which of course requires more waiting. I will bleed soon I hope and then I have an HSG done next Wednesday. Then I will start provera so I will get my period quicker and we will be trained on doing injectables. This all seems like a ton of waiting but I also think it is good to make sure the tubes are in working order.
H’s mother, our niece, and friend of the family are coming on Friday for a week. I was hoping to share good news instead it looks like we will all know more about my tubes then we ever thought we would need to know.
In the meantime we are practicing bending over here.

    So sorry. it always sucks.
    (((hugs)))
for the HSG – take motrin before you go and bring your own pad for afterwards because hospitals have big uncomfortable ones.

8pm!! That’s torture! Sorry it wasn’t the news you were hoping for, but I’m glad there’s forward movement towards your goal.

I’m sorry, sweetie. That’s so disappointing and I’m mad they made you wait so late. Big hugs.

So sorry for the BFN. Ugh. I’ve had TWO HSGs (long story) and while it isn’t fun, it is great to see what is going on in there. Most people get confirmation that they are open for business, and I’m sure you will. I learned that one of my tubes is blocked, and even that was good info to have so I can stop wasting money and can insem only when I’m ovulating on the right side. And it was great to see that HSG dye pour through my right side, wide open. I echo the Advil and bring your own pad comment. I also took Valium the first time/first HSG and that was l.o.v.e.l.y if you can get your hands on some. :)

I am so sorry you got bad news after you waited so long for the call. S had an HSG and said it wasn’t too bad, she did take Advil before. Sending you hugs.

sorry :( about all of it, the waiting till 8pm – and now for another month, the knowing, the upcoming HSG, the injectibles to come.

i like the bending image… it is nice to stumble on to ani on the ipod and remember why i love her – even as she is not my go-to gal anymore either (i am just not that hurt and angry in my life these days – but i still love her power and intense emotion in her voice).

haven’t posted in a few days, spending time with my folks and there just has not been time… but i am feeling a bit better :) thanks for your comment.

    much love… mulberry

My doc said 30% of women get pregnant after the HSG clears out anything blocking up the tubes… so this could be the ticket you need to get to the baby step. Sorry this time didn’t work but having that plan brings promise!

So sorry to hear the bad news. I was hoping that giant follicle meant only good things. Damn, I know you were too.
I had an HSG done back in February and it was fine. I made sure to eat an hour before and took two advil. It was a little like a pap and I just did some nice breathing exercises. Funny thing, I relax more if my eyes are closed, so I really didn’t see much! I’m glad you know what the next month holds. Planning is good.
    We should have a ShackBurger.

I’m sorry– those fucking BFNs never get any easier– I had the HSG before we inseminated last cycle and although a few people told me that it was very painful, my experience was quick and really not all that much different than an insem. Afterward you can bask in the joy of your open tubes!

Ahh crap. So sorry to hear that you’re having to scrape yourselves up and do this all over again.

    Fuck. FuckFuckFuck.

    I’m so sorry.

You’ve got quite a plan. Proud of you for picking it all up so quick. xo

This just bites. I’m so sorry.

It’s great that you get to move forward to the HSG though. You know what they say about the cycles following those. Maybe you’ll have some of that fantastic luck!
