Review: Nova: Life’s Greatest Miracle & SATC

June 6, 2008 · 2 Comments

Nova: Life’s Greatest Miracle - We watched this last night with H.’s hand on my abdomen telling my eggs and the sperm that they should be watching too.    I mostly loved it.   It was nice to see exactly what could be going on in there.   The couple the featured was straight (of course) and got pregnant by chance/accident, which is a bit hard to watch.    (We decided that we are not going to watch Juno right now for the same reason and this morning bundled it up to send back to Net.flix.)   Also, so much of this all is based on chance (will the sperm find the egg, will it break through the egg, will the egg divide, etc).    This all is really a miracle, but of course it happens all the time – those are things that I am weighing on this teeter-totter that is called hope.   Right now: hope is high in the sky over here in Brooklyn

SATC: H talked about this briefly – and without giving anything away I wanted to add my two cents.   I thought the movie was like candy, and I just wanted to binge myself on it.    I would go back to see it again in the theater Olive, but for the fact that our next movie in our schedule is Indiana Jones.   But know that I loved the show, I watch the reruns with happiness every time.

Assuming that a teeter-totter is what we’d call a see-saw, I picture you suspended in mid-air, slightly out of your seat as the person on the other end came down so hard. Hope is a wonderful thing!

Good to know, thanks. I think I’ll end up seeing it if Fern is game.

I hope your performing life’s greatest miracle right now as you sit at your desk or where ever you are!
